Food Tech Reflection

                            

Today for Tech we made  Rock Cakes. The hardest thing about making Rock Cakes is trying make a circle shape. Next time if I will Making this I would't change the ingredients and time that we bake because it taste so nice. I worked with my friend Jericho.

Ingredients : 

1 and 1/2 cup of S.R.flour
1/4 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of cream 
1/4 cup of oil
1 egg

Back 180 digrees for 15 minutes.

Tiritiri Matangi Light House


This week for learning we were focusing about Light Houses. Our group chose to do Tiritiri Matangi. Then we needed to find a Link that we found a fact, Brief History about Tiritiri Matangi and Specials Futures. I learnt that Tiritiri Matangi Light house is mostly made out of Cast Iron and normally cast Iron is used for Flying Pan. For this learning I worked with Mataio, John, Hajera and Chavda to complete this task.

Inchcape Rock




This week we read the poem Inchcape Rock. I had to choose a verse and explain the meaning of the verse. Inchcape Rock is a ballad poem which means it tells a story.

M&M's

This week, LS2 have been using M&M's to solving answers. For this learning we needed to work with a group that we were given. I learnt that M&M's was made in March 3rd 1941. The hardest thing to solve this task was finding a percentage of each colour.

Calligrams



This week we were learning about Calligrams. Today I worked with my friend John to complete this task. The hardest thing to complete was to draw images using the words. The easiest thing was to choose the right color for the images.

CARE Award - Excellence and Innovation - 6 days of transum

This is my fourth Excellence and Innovation task. For this activity I learnt all of my decimal addition and decimal multiplication. I enjoyed doing transom for the 6 days. The first 2 days I did decimal plus and day 3 to day 6 I did decimal times table. It was quite hard because the questions really challenged my thinking. The most hardest question was on day 6 because they had lots of numbers I needed to write for example 5 digit numbers. The easiest question was on day 1 because it started off with easy questions.

Kiwi Sport

This term for Kiwi sport we had Rippa Rugby. Today is our last session for the Rippa Rugby. We learnt how to pass, spin and touch. We played games and our team beat other three teams. The hardest things t do was trying get other people's Rippa and defending my Rippa when I had the rugby ball on me. 

Food Tech Refletion


Today for Food Tech we made a Chocolate Muffins. This is the second time we were making Chocolate Muffins. The hardest thing to do making a Chocolate Muffin was to mix well because the flour would be lumpy if we didn't, and not to mix it too long because if we did the muffin's wouldn't puff up. At the end of the making the muffins, My partner Jericho and I manage to make a proper Chocolate Chip muffins. If I made these again I wouldn't change the ingredients because the muffins taste very nice and I wouldn't chage the baking time because they rose nicely.

Ingredients : 1 and 1/2 cup of SR.Flour

1/2 and 1/4 cup of Milk
1/4 cup of cocoa
1/3 cup of chocolate chip
1 tsp of Vanilla essence

bake 180 degrees for 15 minutes

Maths - Passenger Seats




Today for Maths we were solving question about Passengers Seats. This learning was a bit easy because we worked collaboratively. To find the answer we needed to know who is sitting on the window side. For this activity I worked with my partners John and Carl.

HIIT


This week for HIIT training we were learning how too Squat, Push up and Pull up. First we did a warm up. For the warm up we stretched bodies, arms and legs. Then we shifted on to the activities. The hardest thing to do was Push up and Pull up because both of these are using hole body. The mai thing why we were doing this exercise was to see how strong we are and different between do exercise and no't do exercise.

Raurimu Spiral




For Reading we were learning about Raurimu Spiral.  I used my smart searching skills to find  out what the Raurimu Spiral is. I learned that Raurimu Spiral is in the North Island of New Zealand.



Making Connections

Today for Reading we were reading the book called Ready Steady Snack. Then we moved on to Making Connections. For Making Connections I answered the Text to text, Text to World and Text to self. I learned that making a healthy snack is good idea because eating too much oil and sugar is bad for our health.

Reading




At reading we were reading the poem called Flag Men. Then we found the meaning of the New Zealand court army and the difference between the New Zealand naval flag and the New Zealand flag. One of the things I learnt was that all of these have a Southern Cross. 

Reading - Riding the Unicycle on the tightrope

Today for reading we were reading the poem called Cycling Craze. I learnt that we can't call a Uniycle a one wheel bicycle because a bicycle has two wheels. Then I found the youtube link that shows about People riding the Unicycle on the tightrope. Link

Food Tech Reflection


Today for Food Tech we made quiches. Making the quiches was quite hard. The hardest thing was to make the quiche even so everything can look the same. The easiest thing was to measure the ingredients for the quiche. Junior and I worked collaboratively to make these quiches. At the end we got to taste them, it tasted really good.

Ingredients needed to make a quiche : 
3 slices of Ham
1/2 cup of Cheese
1/2 cup of Milk
4 egg
1 sheet of pastry
Bake 180 digrees for 15 minutes

Step for Making the Quiches : 

  1. Dice the Ham into small pieces.
  2. Cut 12 circle pastries 
  3. Next, put the pastry onto a the muffin tray
  4. Mix milk and 4 eggs together in a bowl 
  5. Put the Ham and Cheese on the top of the pastries
  6. Put the mixed milk and eggs onto the Ham and Cheese
  7. Turn the oven to bake the quiches 15 minutes on 180 digrees

Maths Game


For maths we played the game Math Man and I completed level 1 to 7. The hard thing about this game was to move the yellow circle and eat the correct answer, kind of like Pac Man. The question we had to answer showed on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Kiwi Sports Reflection


This term for Kiwi Sport we are having Rippa Rugby and today was my groups the third session. Last week we were learning about moving side to side and turning so we can protect our tags. Today we were learning about passing backwards and running forwards. The passing was very fun and I learned that if I got the ball we should run forward so we can score a point.

Kiwi Can Reflection


Today for Kiwi Can our theme is Integrity and our topic is accountability. Integrity means to do the right thing even when no one is look, and accountability is taking owner ship for your own actions. First we started with our energizer called Copy Me. The game was very fun and it was easy because Mr Matt and Miss Lily told us step by step of how to play. After this session I learned how to own up to my mistakes and to tell the truth.

Hiit - High Intensity Interval Traning

This term half of the class are focusing Hit on Monday and Thursday. This week we were looking at Split Squat, Squat pulse, Squat jump and Star jumps. Everyone was very focus at doing activities and at the end everyone was puffing because we all worked very hard.

This week for maths we were to solve questions about how much money each person received. From this activity I learned that if we can't find the answer, work from the bottom. Geese




For Reading we were reading the poem called Fred's Decision. For this poem the man called Fred wanted to buy an alarm but he noticed that Geese are better because Dogs and an ordinary alarm are too expensive for him. Then we made a DLO with 5 interesting facts about Geese.

Read Theory


For reading we were looking at Read Theory Progress. The Read Theory helps us when we do our Reading test and improves our vocabulary. My goals is to reach level five or more. 

Making Connections


Today for Reading we read the book called Music Makers. For Making Connections I answered Text to text, Text to world and Text to self. It really enjoy reading the book called Music Makers because I learned that every one needs to practice if we want to be a good at something.

Maths - Fraction of an Amount


Today for Maths we were Finding out fractions of an amount in word problem. For this learning I answered 10 questions and I got it all right. Then we chose one of the question to make a DLO. I chose to show this DLO because this question was bit tricky for me. I learnt that I needed to add 60 not just 24 kg.

Kiwi Can

This term for Kiwi Can our theme is Integrity. To show integrity is to do the right thing even when nobody is watching. For example; Pick up the rubbish on the grounds, or helping other people. We played the game called hand soccer, hand soccer was basically soccer but instead of using our feet, we could only use our hands. I really enjoyed playing it.

Students Led Conferences

Yesterday we had the student led conferences, For it I needed to tell my Dad, Mum and sister about work. At first I introduced my family to the teachers, and then I showed the work that I'd done this year. After that I showed my family this DLO, in each label (Reading, Maths, Writing, Inquiry) there are links that I wanted to show my family. After the Student led conferences finished my family told me that they enjoyed seeing my work.

Kiwi Sports

This week during Kiwi Sport we were learning more about passing and foot movement. Hamish taught us how to properly side step or spin to get away from defenders. He also told us that the easy way to do it is to focus on the feet move. I really enjoy playing Rippa Rugby. 

Food - Tech


Today was the second week of Food Tech in Tamaki College. For Food Tech this week we made chocolate chip muffins, they were quite easy to make because we worked collaboratively. For this task I worked with my friend Junior. 

Ingredients :

1/2 of Sugar
1/2 cup of chocolate chip
1/2 cup of oil
1 egg
1/2 of Milk
1/3 of oil
Then we baked 180 degrees for 25 minutes

Excellence and Innovation - Sir Edmond Hillary



As part of my C.A.R.E Awards I've decided to start working on my third excellence and innovation task. For this task I was to research a New Zealander who has shown excellence and innovation in their life. For this activity I chose Sir Edmond Hillary. I had lots of fun doing this because I learnt lots of facts about Sir Edmond Hillary, and also I saw one of his Ice Axes at the Auckland Museum.

Respiratory System


This week we were looking at the Respiratory Systems. Today we played a game called Respiratory System labeling. For this game I answered questions that describes about Respiratory Systems. This game helps me to remember the name of the body parts. It was quite hard to answer the questions. The first time I played this game I got two wrong but the second time I got play I had got all the questions right. 

Amount of young people attending to the Cinema


For this week I have created my second activity for the week. For this learning we were learning how to make an argument, "why young people are likely to go to the cinema." This DLO shows how young people are more likely to go to the cinema more than older aged people. As people go into the age of an adult they don't want to go to the cinema because they would rather stay home and be a normal person. They would rest at the home or they'd be busy. This learning I worked with my friend John.



Amount of the children



Today for Maths we were learning how to work out How many children in the classroom. For this problem I was using fractions. Then we were find out what age they were in and calculate it all together to find out students in the class room. It was easy to actually find the answer. This activity I worked with my friend John to complete this task.
