Summer Learning Journey - Week 1 - Day 1 - Activity 1

First fact - All ways Maui want to go fishing with old brothers but they said "You're so skinny we might mistake you for some bait and throw you overboard for the fish to eat."

Second fact - Maui chit himself hard on the nose and use the blood to catch the huge fish. 

Third fact - Maui's giant fish became known as the North Island of Aotearoa, and Maui's canoe the South island.

This is my first activity for 2017 - 2018 Summer Learning Journey. For this activity I read a story called Maui and the giant fish. Then I had write about 3 interesting facts about Maui and the giant fish. I was fun doing this activity and I learned about new Maui stories. Because I know one of the Maui stories it is called Maui slowed the sun and how Maui brought fire to the world.

This week LS2 have been focusing about Christmas maths challenges. I used some maths strategies to solve this problem. Something difficult I found was what type of present I should get for my family members. The easiest maths challenge of this task was solving Algebra questions.

Today at the assembly the visitors from the NEXT foundation donate us a free lunch. We also watched our Video of Blogging to other school and Daniel's movie. Visitors name is called Mr Grady, Mr Burt, Mrs Grant, Mrs Lee, Mrs Pritchard, Mrs Jesson, Mr Sneddon, Rachel, Hazel, Mr Komode. 

Working Collaboratively - Christmas Around The World - Brazil

This week for inquiry we've been learning about Christmas around the world. Our group selected the country Brazil. We work collaboratively to find information about Christmas in Brazil. I worked with Mia, Sanujan, Jona and Tai. We found that Brazil Celebrate in a different day than us interesting because we thought they celebrate Christmas on the same day as us.

What We Had To Do 

Our task was to find sites that support our learning about Christmas in Brazil.

The site we used is called "Whychristmas". This helped us a lot because it had information about Christmas in all the countries the world.

Since we already found a site we created a google presentation saying....

Where Brazil is, the directions and also how long it takes to go there.

What food they eat in Brazil.

And more.

After we finished the presentation we created a screencastify explaining the learning we did. 

We had lot of fun creating a presentation and screencastify, also we had lots of fun learning about Christmas around the world.

Maths Challenges

4. Six of the classes at your school are going to the pool for a swimming party. That means 125 students need to get on buses and each bus hold 48 students. How many buses will the school need?  Answer 3 buses

How to work it out? They have two ways to worked out this question.

1: First one is 125 divided by 48 is 2.6 the 2.6 is bigger than 2 so we need 3 buses.

2: Second one is one is first 48 X 2 is 96 but the answer is small than 125 48 X 3 = 144 the answer is bigger than 125 so we need a 3 buses.

As part as Christmas today for maths Ms Kirkpatrick decided to set a maths challenge for LS2. We worked in partners for one of our maths challenges and I worked with Ofa for the holiday problems. We had to solve all 4 problems. After that we had to choose one problem to explain how we solve it out. We decided to explain how we worked out number 4.

CARE Award - Excellence and Innovation - My Personal Passion

For CARE Award Excellence and Innovation the task is to explain what is My Personal Passion. My favorite sports is tennis. This is my first Excellence and Innovation blog posts.

Google Games

Today I played Google games. This game is a part of our tasks. The game is like scratch. I think this google game is hard then scratch. However the it very fun. The this games task is to correct the all of the carrot. 

Team Work

This week for leadership we were learning about team work. These photo's show examples of what teamwork looks like at Panmure Bridge School. Teamwork is an important trait shown by some of the most influential leaders around the world. Above is my group and I's understanding of teamwork. 

Maths Drawring

Today's task for maths is using coordinates to form a dog picture. We used the ladder rule to complete this task. This is how the ladder rule goes... First you always have to walk across then climb up the ladder. 

Summer Learning Journey

Last week the Summer Learning Journey instructor called Hazel is came to our school and introduce about SLJ. I think the SLJ is very important things to do at the holidays because we can improve the learning and the activity are very fun. Also she talks about the prizes and they are very cool. 

Tech Reflection

Term 1 to term 2 :  3D graphics 

At the 3D graphics I learned how to make 3D things.

The teacher is called Ms Fergson.

Term 2 to term 3 : Digital Tech

At the Digital Tech I learned how to make a movies.

The teacher is called Ms Anderson.

Term 3 to term 4 : Food Tech
At the Food Tech I learned how to make a food and how to use the Cooking utensils.
The Teacher is Mrs Heka.

I was very enjoyed doing all of this activity and I learned lot of things from the first year Tamaki College Tech. I am very exiting for next year.

Tech - PE

Last week after the Tamaki college tech we separate with 3 groups. 

• Social Science / Study
• PE
• Robotics

I was in the PE group. Then we went the school basket ball gym. First we played worming up game is called Infinity tag next we played Samoan soft ball, then Bench ball. The PE coach is called Mr Moyes and he explain how to play each game and it was very easy to understand.

Athletics Day - PBS

Today is Athletics day at the school. Tamaki College came to help us. My favorite activity was Sponge Rally because I like to run. There was 4 teams Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. I was in Yellow team. Our team came 3rd. It was very fun doing activity's for athletics. 

Trip to Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra

Yesterday 50 people from school went to Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to trip. The we hear the music made by

Fire Safety

This term we were learning about how the community help us. This DLO is about why you need to put the smoke alarm and when check the smoke alarm. 

Trip to the fire station

Yesterday we went to the fire station because this term we were learning about how community help us. At the fire station the men enplane to us about what things in the bus next they show us how to cut the car. The cutting the car was vert exited.

Mussels Problem Solving

For Maths we have been working on problem solving and showing the strategy we use to solve the problem. This DLO shows how we worked out problems about collecting mussels. I worked with my friend Carl. 

Learning to motivate others

We are learning about leader ships as next year y7 will be our school leaders. Today we looked at what motivation means. We then worked collaboratively to create role plays to help us see what motivating others looks like, so we can learn to motivate others.
