This week we were leaning about Stephen Hawking. This DLO show about who is Stephen Hawking. For this learning I worked with my friend Carl.

Time versus Money

At the maths we were learning about Time versus Money. For this learning we solve which thinking is cheaper Ben's way or Nan's way. I worked with my friend Jeremiah.

Pou Whenua

This term Carl, Sky, Tiava and I starting to make our Pou Whenua. Today we started to using the paint to drawing Pou Whenua. First Miss Ferguson came to our class and help us for planning our work. Then we started to Painting. The paint was bit hard because some part is small. I also enjoy doing this because I like painting. 

Maths Game

Today I completed a Maths Game called Ordering Fractions. In Maths Games they have 3 levels which is Level A, Level B and Level C. It was fun to solve because I like solving fractions.

Angles

Today at Maths we were learning about angles. First we were given a paper with 21 questions about angles. Then we chose one of the questions to create a DLO about. In this DLO I show you how to solve the problem I chose.

Equipment Respect

This year Olympics was held in Pyeongchang. The Pyeongchang is in the South Korea. In Olympics they wear the right Equipment for each sport so the equipment helps you. Everyone is respect each other to make a great teamwork. For the teamwork everyone cheering and participation to own sport. Finally they got the medals. The medals are Gold, Silver and Bronze. This year theme is called Passion Connect. The word Passion is the something you are really like and connect is the people connecting with each other. The winter Olympics they showing the skills on the snow or ice. It happening in winter time.

Today we used the ‘2 words 1 minute’ challenge to write a description about the Winter Olympics. After talking in pairs about the things we knew about the winter Olympics we created a list of words (vocabulary) that would help us write our description. We chose the words ‘equipment’ and ‘respect’ to help us think about what we were going to write.

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 1 minute to put those ideas into sentences. We had to try our best to use all the words on our vocab list. After the minute was up we had 2 minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense, or if we had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on writing our descriptions.

All the words I highlighted in my paragraph are the words used on my word list. I did really well is use the words on my list. I need to try hard to use the powerful words.

Today I did the Maths Worm up Games. For this activity I need to find the nearest numbers form the house and putting the correct news paper to each posts and I manage to finish Level 2.

Let me tell you something about the Winter Olympics

Let me tell you about the Winter Olympics, the Winter Olympics begin on the 7th of February 2018. In the Olympics they have team works and they also focus on the sports they're playing. This year the Olympics is happening in South Korea Pyeongchang. They are many people participating in the Winter Olympics, Did you know that they are 92 countries competing for the Winter Olympics. In the Winter Olympics they have a Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and Bronze Medal, many people take risks and they train to learn new skills. Did you know what this years logo stands for, the two lines on the right and left sides stands for coming together, and the bottom and top line stands for heavens and earth, and the logo above it stands for people connecting. This year the Winter Olympics is about Passion Connective.

Talking about ideas.

5 minutes writing explanation.

This morning we worked in threes to create the explanation that shows about Winter Olympics. First we talked about what we are going to write. Then we wrote explanation for 5 minutes. In 5 minutes time we sat on the ground and facing the out side so we can't talk with each other. Next we had 2 minutes face back on and fixing the sentences and shearing the ideas. It was bit hard because we can't talk in writing and also we worked with three's. The writing for today was fun way to practice.

5 Main Ideas

Today we were focusing to Olympics. First we chose the years of the Olympics and wrote the 5 main ideas. Then we show to the other group and feedback and feed ford. For this learning I worked with Mele to complete all of the work.

Making Connections

This week for the reading we were learning about Olympics. For the Making Connection I answered three question. The first question was called Text to text then Text to world ten last one is Text to self.

Hard Ice, Soft Ice

This week our group read the book called Hard Ice, Soft Ice. The task was called find 5 main point from the article. I worked with my friend Junior to finish our tasks and it was bit hard. 

Agent Of Change

This week we were learning about Agent Of Change. To help us set goals we looked at how we could be agent of change in our own 2018 learning journey. My goals are read more. 

Art Tech

At the Art Tech we were move on to new learning. Last week we draw my personal symbols in paper this week we start drawing to card board and coloring in. I have fun doing art at the Tech.
