Maori Battalion Timeline
This term for Inquiry we were learning about World War 1. Today, Julian, Nevaeh, Josh and I worked together as a group to complete the Maori Battalion Timeline DLO. This shows the timeline of the Maori Battalion's time on the battle field. We all show a lot of respect to the people who have fought for our king and country. I learnt that narratives (Maori people) are not allowed to take part in the war between the white races because of the skin colour. The white skin and the dark skin people were separated. They also have different jobs the British got the better jobs and the Maoris got the worst and least paying jobs after the war. In the battle field they worked as a team and became friends. Then went their separate ways.

Wolves - Emily Gravett
Wolves is a book written by the amazing author Emily Gravett. The book wolves is about a rabbit who went to the library to read a book about wolves. While the rabbit read the book he learnt that: wolves can adapt to different climates, they have sharp claws, and they eat large animals like deer and bison. The thing that really caught his attention was that they also eat rabbits. In the book there are a range of amazing illustrations and the book is cleverly written. It is a new style of writing which is a signature technique used by Emily Gravett. For this book Jeremiah and I wrote five things that people believe wolves do. e.g. wolves howl at the moon. On the other side of that chart is facts that either prove that the ideas are true or that they are false.

Meerkat
Meerkat Mail is an amazing picture book written by a highly praised British author, whose name is Emily Gravett. To celebrate book week Mrs Anderson has read three of Emily Gravett's books and has asked us to complete three activities based on the books. The books that have read are: Wolves, Meerkat Mail, and the Big Book of Fears. All three books were written and illustrated by Emily Gravett. The book Meerkat Mail is about a Meerkat who is getting sick of living with his family and throughout the week he went and lived with relatives who live a different lifestyle he is used to. At the end of the book he finally understands why he has to live like he does so he returned home. For this activity Jeremiah and I created an animation with information about meerkats.

Armistice Day|Personal Research Challenge Pt 1
Today for our Personal Research Challenge LS2 was given a task which was to create a question chart about World War 1. Fraidoon (partner) and I have questions such as: How long did soldiers train for?, what kind of food did they?, how many soldiers died from firing squads? etc. The question Fraidoon and I researched more about was: How were soldiers punished for not following their orders? Fraidoon and I have learnt that if soldiers were drunk on post their punishment could be death but it can be tied to a rope for 2 hours. Did you know that soldiers were also sent to court and if they were found guilty for breaking one of the rules they were shot. Being killed and tied by rope wasn't the only punishment. Soldier were also put on cleaning duties meaning they were to clean the dishes and also the toilets which was worse than cleaning the dishes.
World War 1 - Main Disease

Tech Reflection
Today for tech we were to finish off our charity boxes. Ofa and I are the first two to finish our charity boxes so we were asked to complete a DLO with simple questions based on our charity boxes such as: What could you do different to make your charity box better looking? Ofa and I answer that we could make our charity box look better by adding more color. Ofa's charity box is based on protecting the forest and my charity box is based on helping the homeless.
